Each student's Learning Plan is then adjusted as needed, taking the Academic Team's analysis into account. Learners are made aware of their biggest challenges and advised on how to take their speaking skills up to the next level.

I was really impressed by 1) the overall teaching philosophy and 2) the infinite patience of their teachers. If you only learned a foreign language the old fashioned, classroom-based way and as a result hated the experience, E-QIP's methods and atmosphere will come as a (good) shock to you. At first, I felt thrown into the deep end because my French is still at the very beginning level. However, E-QIP's teachers are supportive, patient and kind, and the language learning approach is very communicative.
The school is run very professionally and all interactions with them were smooth and easy. The teachers are committed and knowledgeable - not just about the languages they teach, but about how to teach and learn languages. Can't recommend them highly enough!

They have a flexible teaching method that is more customized for the students in each class. Also, there are 3 different teachers each hour, who rotate each week, so you get to know all the teachers and their teaching styles. Also, very fun atmosphere; everyone makes friends here pretty quickly.
Currently taking Spanish here and am loving it. The teachers are all really friendly and professional. What I like most is the ability to learn entirely through speaking and making mistakes instead of the traditional grammar/spelling lessons that get tiring way too fast. Absolutamente lo recomenderia.
Wow, this school was exactly what I needed! I had a private tutor in French at a very high level exactly tailored to my needs at a reasonable price. Because I want to keep learning at E-QIP I have canceled future trips to Brussels and Paris and I'm coming back to Montreal!

E-QIP is different from other traditional schools! Especially teachers focus on each student's needs and area's carefully so I could get immediate feedback from them. It helped me work on it by myself. While I studied in E-QIP, I learned a lot other than just languages, such as culture, relationship, life etc etc. I won't forget every and each moment I have shared in E-QIP.

Passei bons meses nessa escola. Não foi minha primeira tentativa de estudar francês mas foi a que deu mais certo para mim (depois de mais de uma década de desistência). O fato de se concentrarem mais em desenvolver as habilidades de expressão, e não necessariamente na morfologia e gramática durante 3h, foi crucial para mim. Claro que se estuda mas as aulas vão além. Cada aluno é avaliado de maneira individual dentro do grupo. <The fact that they focus more on developing speaking skills, and not necessarily on morphology and grammar for 3 hrs, was crucial for me. Of course you study, but the classes go beyond that. Each student is evaluated individually within the group.>

Ich war ein Teil dieser Schule für knapp vier Wochen. Ich habe das Intensive 30 Programm gebucht. Die familiäre Atmosphäre und die netten Leute sind definitiv ein Grund sich für diese Schule zu entscheiden. E-QIP was an absolutely wonderful experience and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school… you begin to improve without even noticing. Teachers are attentive to your individual needs and have a unique way of promoting interaction and speaking during classes. Everyday I was excited to come to classes and learn, I never felt pressured to participate, and never felt embarrassed to try. The best time and money spent in Montreal thus far!
I was at this school for only 2 weeks. But, I must say that my stay here was very effective for me, because my French has become better. I had more opportunities to speak French than in other schools. In addition, many things in French grammar have become clearer to me.

I learned English for about 1 year at E-QIP. At first I intended to study there for 3 months or so, but I came to enjoy studying English at the school and extended the period. Teachers at E-QIP are all nice and dedicated. What is better, they have good skills to teach and always respect us and listen to our requests.
E-QIP offers small classes and it was good for me. It made me easier to ask questions and say something during classes.

I took 2-3 semesters of Japanese group class a few years ago. I found the teacher covered a lot of useful topics and give us plenty of practice not just reading and writing but speaking and listening as well. Afterward, I visited Japan for 2 months and was so happy to be able to have small conversations with locals. I am really thankful for E-QIP method of teaching. They also offer interesting community activities to discover more about the culture outside of a classroom setting.
Highly recommended to anyone with a serious intent to learn to communicate in French. Intensive 20 has been designed for language learners who are determined to address all their personal challenges and become masterful speakers. You will need to be able to accept direct feedback on your weak points and be pushed. However, if you have the drive, determination and/or necessity to seriously take on English or French, and want to really grow, then Intensive 20 is the course for you.

Each week, you’ll spend 15 lessons alongside other growth-hungry learners, and then 5 lessons with an expert E-QIP-trained instructor, who will work hard (and smart) to get you speaking your best.

You are encouraged - and given the space - to speak as much as possible. Our instructors listen actively, then offer feedback on improving natural expression and flow. Talking spontaneously and smoothly are the goals.
S2: 35%
Accuracy
You build your linguistic toolbox and practice elements of language from form to usage. Instructors increase awareness of your challenges and help you eliminate them.

S3: 30%
Connection
You focus on topics, and scenarios to build confidence handling both more casual and increasingly complex interactions. Our instructors host and facilitate conversation, introduce communicative strategies, and offer practical feedback.

Independence
You activate your language in various real life situations. Our instructors shift from coaches to mentors, reviewing practical forms and strategies, then take you beyond the classroom. Operating autonomously is the goal.

Core 12
Kickstart the day in a productive way building conversation and communication techniques with the guidance of a skilled instructor. Mornings consist of three 45-minute periods, leaving you free for the rest of the day. Each period offers a different approach to communication: fluency, accuracy and application.
Speaking is a skill, and practice makes perfect. This program will have you communicating confidently as soon as possible.
- Fluency - students focus on pronunciation and rate of speech
- Accuracy - students learn structures and improve accuracy
- Application - students interact and develop communicative ability

Review and expand your language skills from the comfort of home. These instructor-driven lessons will give you the tips and tools you need to sharpen your speaking.
These classes are divided into 3 parts:
- Vocabulary Building – Use exercises and texts to improve conversational skills.
- Skills Acquisition – Learn essential grammar structures.
- Skills Practice – Apply your skills in teacher led activities.

Yes—Intensive 20 is offered at all levels, from beginner to advanced!
To determine your level, we ask that you send us an email at hello@clc-canada.com or fill out our contact form. We’ll send you a brief questionnaire and ask you to record yourself speaking in French. Upon completion of this assessment, we’ll get in touch to let you know which level we’ve placed you at and when the next session will be offered for your level! See the bottom of our Academics page for a breakdown of the language levels E-QIP uses.
It’s best to do your placement interview roughly a month before you plan on studying with us. Any earlier, and it’s possible that your level could change slightly before you get to us!
Fluency depends on many elements, including how many hours you’re spending in class, how much time you’re spending using your target language outside of class and—perhaps most importantly—how motivated you are to learn. Even the concept of “fluency” is hard to define; for some, fluency simply means getting through basic everyday situations with ease, while for others, it means speaking clearly and confidently about highly specialized subjects. With that said, we’ve laid out the average number of lessons required for absolute beginners to reach each language level. For those taking group lessons, the number of classes required to reach the highest level (12—in other words, the level of a native speaker) is 450, while for private lessons, that number is 150. Each session of Intensive 20 includes 15 small group lessons and four private lessons, which means it’s possible to reach an advanced level in less than 17 weeks when taking Intensive 20 alone!
Yes; with the exception of absolute beginners, all other students can start on any Monday of their choosing.
Certainly! Given that Intensive 20 sessions last for one week, there’s no minimum number of weeks that you must register for.
Lucky you—you get to enjoy 15 extra private lessons at the group lesson rate! That means you’ll enjoy 15 45-minute blocks of one-on-one conversation with an expert language instructor, all of which will be tailored to your unique strengths and weaknesses. While not common, this can happen, and we always recommend that students take advantage of this rare opportunity. Although the group aspect of Intensive 20 is something that many students enjoy, there’s no question that the one-to-one student/teacher ratio is beneficial to students’ growth.
